But, what in the world\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Think about it. I will add some vegetables too. It will be a nice combination and a wholesome meal in a bowl.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Are you going to add my favorite seasoning, chana masala powder?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yep, I&#8217;ll.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Chole cheddar! I am game. Cover me with that gooey cheddar&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/mahanandi\/images\/cheddar\/cheddarchanacopyrightedimage1.jpg\" class=\"noborder\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nChickpea and Cheddar<\/center><\/p>\n<p><strong>Hearty Chole Cheddar<\/strong><br \/>\n<small>(for two or four, for two to one meal)<\/small><\/p>\n<p>1 teaspoon oil<br \/>\n1 tsp each &#8211; cumin and minced garlic<br \/>\n1\/2 cup finely chopped red onion<br \/>\n1\/2 cup each &#8211; diced carrots and potatoes (1\/2-inch thick)<br \/>\n1\/2 cup thinly sliced red bell pepper<br \/>\n1 teaspoon each &#8211; red chilli powder and turmeric<br \/>\n1 tablespoon &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/store.indianfoodsco.com\/grocery\/ProdDesc.cfm?itemid=SF00160&#038;Description=Channa\/Chole%20Masala&#038;countryid=&#038;countryname=&#038;countryorderid=\" target=\"_blank\">chana masala powder <\/a><br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon salt or to taste<br \/>\n2 cups water<br \/>\n2 cups chickpeas (Canned or pressure-cooked)<br \/>\n1\/3 cup finely grated sharp cheddar cheese <\/p>\n<p>In a heavy-bottomed pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add and toast cumin and garlic to fragrance.<\/p>\n<p>Add the vegetables and cook, stirring often until vegetables soften, about 15 minutes. <\/p>\n<p>Add the seasoning &#8211; chilli powder, turmeric, chana masala powder and salt. Also 2 cups of water. To thicken the soup, mash about quarter cup of chickpeas to fine paste in a mixer and add the paste along with the remaining chickpeas. Simmer, stirring occasionally for about ten minutes. Add \u00c2\u00bc cup cheddar cheese and stir.<\/p>\n<p>Ladle into bowls; sprinkle the remaining cheese.
