Spinach (Palak, Pala Kura)

Spinach (Palak, Pala Kura)

Spinach, Palak, Pala Kura

This green leafy vegetable is a must buy at least once a week, for me. Spinach dal and spinach curry are the most common ways, how I use this vegetable. Sometimes, when I am in a mood for fancy, restaurant kind of meal, I make the famous Palak Paneer. With rice, roti or as sandwich filler, I like my spinach.

  1. Another great photo for WHB. I followed a link to a link to discover IshopIndia.com. Wow. What a great site.

Soon my herbs will be gone and I will be joining you in doing ingredients that are plants but not actually growing in my garden. It’s sad to see the garden season ending, but Salt Lake is a big enough city to have some great ethnic markets (Indian, Asian, Middle Eastern, Mexican, and Greek) so I am looking forward to finding some interesting plant ingredients to blog about each weekend.

  2. I love spinach. I make sure I get every week. It is very good for the health. I often make aloo palak, spinach dal, and spinach curry are my favourites. The picture is taken nicely Indira.

  3. Aloo palak is one of my favorite dishes, but I also do masoor dal palak, and find that to be a lovely dish.

I also like to eat raw spinach salad with goat cheese, roasted beets and pears.

I think I just like spinach.
