For taking action to stop plagiarism, fellow food blogger Inji Pennu of Ginger and Mango was threatened bodily harm. A fake website was also created on her name by people who run kerals.com website, to abuse and harass her. Inji Pennu has reported to FBI Internet Crime cell, and also in the process of filing a complaint with local police.
It is shocking to find such threatening attacks against bloggers who did nothing but plead ‘Stop Stealing My Material’. Like one commenter noted, the whole incident, to me serves as a rude awakening to the realization that how easily our primary rights and protection can be violated by those who do not have any respect for others’ rights. This is a fundamental issue of the bloggers not only of those who are now affected, but also of everybody. In that sense, this is an issue that should receive our collective attention. For that reason, I am joining the protest against cyber bullying by websites and magazines that plagiarize and attack. And, I give my full support to Inji Pennu.
I can’t imagine how far these individuals want to go just to satisfy their egos. It is really sad that people are ready to spend time and energy to make others lives miserable. I have to say Inji Pennu has dealt with these guys with stride. My full support to her.

I too extend my support to Inji Pennu.
Why would anyone do this to a blogger? I will never understand why people do such things. Is giving credit to someone for their hard work so difficult?

Its so shocking to see the emails Inji Pennu has received. I think she should tackle this with some media like the MSNBC cyber crime show, where they catch them red handed. Kerals seem to be threatening her with the reach their site has – Is number of unique users some kind of measure of power for a website or what?

Indira,it is so horrifying to come across such incidents. I just could not bear to read the entire mail contents that was posted on Inji Pennu website. I don’t know how did Inji pennu bore it. My support is with Inji and wish all justice to be done.

What! I’m totally baffled by this criminal mentality — how much does someone want to steal blog content that they are willing to get themselves into very serious trouble? Because that’s surely what will happen to those who threaten, harass and defame anyone. I am glad Inji Pennu decided to speak out and go to the police and FBI.
While the authorities are taking necessary action, I hope those who have threatened and harassed her find their “business” (perhaps banditry is a better description) has lost credibility amongst its clientele, and that their behavior gets the bad press it deserves.

We add our voice to this too, and hope the collective voice for a right cause has resounding effect. It is shameful that human beings don’t prefer to use their own minds and enjoy the creative rewards.

As Ritu said, I also stay near that address, do you want us to do anything?
